In this project we were focusing on understanding what immigrants thought about their working rights and working conditions. We were looking for migrant workers and people that didn’t speak English. Translators are expensive, as a result, some participants had to translate and recruit. There were issues around trust because they didn’t want to get caught by the immigration and potentially sent back to their homeland. Therefore, having someone that spoke their language who was also a participant. Getting someone from their community, made them feel comfortable to speak. Community recruiters are the best if you have a niche group such as the migrant groups we researched about.
